Amakusa – Takarajima Line (Misumi – Matsushima Route) A regularly operated line which connects from Misumi Port (Uki-city, Kumamoto Prefecture) to Maejima (Matsushima) Port (Maejima, Kami-amakusa-city, Kumamoto Prefecture) in about 20 minutes by high-speed passenger ship. [Features] The high-speed passenger ship can carry up to 90 passengers and provides a comfortable, smooth voyage without much rolling motion. This high-class cruiser has been renovated under the supervision of a Japanese designer Eiji Mitooka, who designed the luxurious sleeper train ‘Nanatsu-boshi in Kyushu (Seven Stars in Kyushu)’. This cruiser makes a connection with another one of his works, the tourist express ‘“A” Ressha de Ikou (Let’s go on the “A” Train)’, of the JR Kyushu Misumi line. During the voyage, the beautiful scenery of 5 Amakusa Bridges, Mount Unzen-Fugen and Amakusa Matsushima can be enjoyed, making the cruiser much more than just a means of transportation.
